Foundation slab
In the initial phase of construction, after the excavation work has been done, a concrete bed, or so-called lean concrete layer, is laid before the foundation slab is poured. ISO-DRAIN membranes withstand high mechanical loads and are an excellent alternative to this solution.
In this case, just like the concrete bed, the ISO-DRAIN membrane is a structural layer and does not affect the load-bearing capacity of the overlying load-bearing (reinforced) foundation slab and is therefore not included in the calculation of the load-bearing capacity of the slab. At the same time, the application of ISO-DRAIN creates optimal curing conditions for the concrete slab (the cement milk does not go into the subbase) and protects the slab against negative ground conditions: alkaline and saline groundwater aggression, penetration of capillary water.
